Wellbeing support for students

The Student Services Team offer a range of support for students which includes, wellbeing sessions, counselling, financial support, academic skills support and general advice and guidance about issues relating to student life.

Online Learning from the Charlie Waller Trust

The Charlie Waller Trust have created some excellent online learning modules, specifically for staff in higher education, on the following areas:

  • Key principles in supporting students
  • Signs to look out for
  • Transitions
  • Students at risk or in crisis

The training is free and can be accessed on the Charlie Waller Trust website.

Suicide Awareness Training

The Zero Suicide Alliance have created a helpful online course that will help you gain the skills and confidence to help someone who may be considering suicide.

The Student Services Referral Framework can be used for swift referral for specialist support. In addition, the Student Services Team are available to provide advice and guidance to staff about any questions relating to student wellbeing using the email listed on this webpage. The team can also provide advice and guidance to you, as a member of staff, about self-care, please remember to look after you.
