Referencing: EndNote

What is EndNote?

EndNote is reference management software; it allows you to keep track of your citations, organise them into folders, and create references and bibliographies in your assignments, projects and research papers. Using EndNote will save you time and help organise your references for citing in your work.

With EndNote you can:

  • Create your own searchable library of citations
  • Export references from databases with ease as you search
  • Use 'Cite While You Write' in Microsoft Word (requires plug-in) - to insert references instantly, as you type
  • Store up to 10,000 records per EndNote Online account
  • Organise your references into groups for more efficient management
  • Share your EndNote Groups with other EndNote users
  • Quickly format references and bibliographies in your papers to conform to styles used by hundreds of different journals

Why EndNote?

EndNote is similar to Refworks and Zotero and other reference management software, but it allows you to produce bibliographies in a greater number of citation styles and allows greater customisation; particularly regarding the required use of the Harvard (BourneU) style.
